We can track all equipment that we receive allowing you to see how choosing Digital Growth has directly contributed to improving lives in communities both here and around the world. In an environment where ethical concerns are growing amongst customers, choosing Digital Growth will also enhance the PR image of your company to your cliental and employees.
Once your redundant IT equipment reaches one of our depots it undergoes a series of strict safety checks to ensure all IT equipment is in working order and safe to use. All equipment that passes our visual assessment is then subject to PAT testing, which involves testing the Earth, bond within the equipment, failure on the earth bond can result in an electric shock. The second group of tests assess the insulation within the appliance; these tests are particularly useful, not only because they assess the safety of the appliance, but also the rate of deterioration can be seen and a judgment made to replace the appliance before it becomes unsafe. This is followed by safe and secure data destruction. All business have a legal requirement under data protection legislation to irretrievably destroy any personal data that they hold.
Digital Growth ensures all data is wiped to the highest of standards; all our work is carried out in accordance with the data protection act. Our process of data removal involves multiple overwriting and exceeds both the standards set by the Ministry of defence and US department of defence. This process can be time consuming but ensures all data is destroyed and is non recoverable; if for any reason the Hard Drive can not be accessed or data is proving difficult to wipe the hard drive is then removed and physically destroyed.
Our team at digital growth guarantees the total removal of all data and on request the removal of all identification markings including electronic "tattoos” on all recycled computer equipment. Once equipment has been safety tested and has successfully undergone the data removal process it is packed and securely stored. Our research and development officers then seek new communities which can benefit from our scheme. Once approved, the equipment is forwarded on without delay.
